ELECTROGIG developed, marketed and supported the GIG family of software products and services for design professionals in the broadcast, film and video, CAD and publishing industries. The company's core technologies included 3D solid modeling, visualization and animation software. With its mission to provide superior digital media tools, ELECTROGIG was at the forefront of the burgeoning field of interactive communications.

ELECTROGIG was an international corporation with world headquarters in San Francisco, and principal offices in Amsterdam and Hong Kong. Additional U.S. sales and support offices are located in New York and Orlando, Florida.

ELECTROGIG products were used by visual-communication and image-production experts in over 800 institutions and corporations in 40 countries worldwide, including organizations specializing in broadcast and film, advertising and marketing, architecture, science and engineering, product and industrial design, graphic design, interior design and publishing.

ELECTROGIG's software line included products in four distinct categories:

  • GIG3DGO for film and video
  • GIGVIZ for CAD visualization
  • GIGPIX graphic design and publishing
  • GIGTIME products for broadcast and post-production

The entire product line provided users the ability to create photorealistic 3D images with exceptional quality and precision. ELECTROGIG's goal-oriented user interface offered unparalleled ease of use and facilitates a highly intuitive creative process. The software tools distinguished themselves with superior solid modeling and animation, raytracing and lighting capabilities, and file transfer. The products also offered exceptional customization capabilities. ELECTROGIG products ran on Silicon Graphics, Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard workstations and rpm-based Linux personal computers.

klompELECTROGIG provided comprehensive customer support and in-depth customer training, both on-site and at its locations around the world. In addition, training on ELECTROGIG technology was offered through several schools and universities, including:
